Children’s Books in Ireland

There is a wide variety of organisations and individuals who are interested in the ongoing development and support of books for children in Ireland. In November 2008, CBI and Clé (Publishing Ireland) hosted a forum to discuss current issues in children’s book publishing in Ireland. The forum identified many trends, threats and opportunities for the sector.

CBI and Clé (Publishing Ireland) returned to many of the issues identified at the November forum at a special panel forum convened in March 2009 as part of Dublin Book Festival. This second event featured a proposed policy statement and action plan.

With the support of a sector-wide coalition and network, CBI will continue to advocate for a stronger children’s books sector.
