Now in its nineteenth consecutive year, the national Children's Book Festival has established itself as the foremost celebration of children’s books and reading in Ireland.
 
With over 1,600 events taking place in 2008, it is by far the largest and most dynamic festival of its kind in the country.
 
Following the success of last year's programme, the festival will again run for the entire month of October in 2009.
 
From the 1st - 31st a non-stop series of author readings, illustrator workshops, storytelling sessions, competitions,quizzes and countless other activities will be taking place in libraries, schools, bookstores and art-centres across the island of Ireland, as festival fever takes hold!
