About the Design

Every year, CBI has the pleasure of inviting one of our favourite illustrators to create an original artwork to be used on Children's Books Festival merchandise and printed materials.

Following in the footsteps of Alan Clark, Annie West, Mark Oliver and many others, this year Kevin Waldron took on the commission and has just submitted his final design (see picture right).

Born in Dublin in 1979, Kevin has since lived in both London and now New York.

His first children's title, the self-authored Mr Peek at the Zoo (Templar, 2009) won the Opera Prima award at Bologne and has recently been followed by a fantastic new picture-book version of Edward Lear's classic poem The Owl and the Pussy-Cat (Simon and Schuster, 2010).

His next publication will see him collaborating with no-lesser writer than former UK poet-laureate Michael Rosen, on Tiny Little Fly, published by Walker Books and due out this autumn.

You can find outmore about Kevin at: http://www.kevinwaldron.co.uk/
