Rab Fulton - Storyteller Extraordinaire! Print E-mail

rabfulton.jpgSo, without further ado, please allow me to introduce the first 'CBI Recommends' blog post of 2009!

Rab Fulton is a storyteller of heroic standing over in Galway, who is looking to extend his involvement in the CBF nationally. As well as hosting a weekly tale-spinning session in his local pub in Salthill, Rab has also chalked up a considerable international reputation, delighting audiences at many arts and literary festivals at home and abroad...

A native of Scotland, Rab has lived here for over a decade now, during which time he has built up a considerable repertoire of traditional and original material suitable for children aged from 3 years right up to adults of 70+!

I was lucky enough to see Rab in action last weekend and can say with my hand on heart that he's up there with the very best. A fantastic performer and very adaptable to different spaces and age-groups.

A couple of logistical points to consider - Rab is restricted to travelling by public transport, so this needs to be factored into any event plans. If required to stay more than one day or perform a long way from home he would obviously need overnight accommodation as well.

If you're interested in finding out more about Rab please This e-mail address is being protected from spam bots, you need JavaScript enabled to view it and I can forward on full biog info, daily rates, etc. Rab also has his own myspace site, which can be accessed here.

NB. Just a quick note as well that I've been talking to Jane Mitchell who has a new book out with Walker Books this month (for more info click here) about putting together a tour for October. She is already due to visit libraries in Wexford, Kilkenny and Waterford City authorities, who are working together to programme authors this year. Given it's subject matter, Jane's new book is best suited to a post-primary readership, but events could be tailored to 6th class students if required.

If you might be interested in hosting a visit from Jane please This e-mail address is being protected from spam bots, you need JavaScript enabled to view it and we can discuss the options further... td
