Check out this fantastic article by vampire afficionado Darren Shan about Bram Stoker, the Irish author of Dracula.  Children’s literature is infested with bloodsucking vampires at the moment, so what better time to pay tribute to the Grandaddy of them all?!

This Friday marks the centenary of Bram Stoker’s death. His master work, Dracula, was published in 1897. It succeeded in bringing vampire stories into the mainstream and influenced hundreds of authors who have since dug their fangs into the genre. We love it because it’s super creepy, and definitely a book that all vampire enthusiasts should take a stab at (har har)!

“…As the Count leaned over me and his hands touched me… a horrible feeling of nausea came over me, which, do what I would, I could not conceal…”

Spooky!
